Howard Schultz gets this right.

Howard Schultz is the billionaire, former CEO of Starbucks Coffee.  He is also thinking about running as an independent candidate for President.

Schultz is considered a threat to the Democrats, as he runs left of center and would presumably pull votes away from which ever crazy leftist the Democrat nominate.  But Howard Schultz has nailed one thing. This appears to be his signature issue and he is absolutely right about it.

Schultz is going after the national debt.

For months, Schultz has been saying the biggest threat to America is the national debt. He is absolutely right.  When Barack Obama took office in 2009, the national debt stood at $10.6 trillion.  Today it is over $21 trillion.

The debt was the impetus for the creation of the Tea Party movement, that decried massive government spending.  Republicans gave lip service to this and kept right on spending, just like the Democrats.

During the Obama years, the impact of the national debt was mitigated by the Federal Reserve, which kept interest rates at unnaturally low levels. This not only postponed damage from the debt but helped keep the economy from imploding under the disastrous policies of Obama.

Since President Trump took office, the Fed has raised interest rates six times. Now, the interest in the debt is rapidly rising and will soon be a larger part of the federal budget than the Defense Department.

In addition to the national debt, America has an untold amount in unfunded liabilities. These are liabilities the government may be called upon to fund. The unfunded liabilities for Medicare alone are $37 trillion and the total for the United States could be as much as $200 trillion.

Schultz is right. The national debt is the paramount threat to America.

How would Schultz address the debt?  My guess is he would want a lot of tax increases and some spending cuts.  He is left of center so that is probably how he thinks.  The problem is Washington never wants to cut spending.   In 1981, when President Reagan pushed through his historic tax cuts, part of the agreement was there were to be spending cuts as well. Congress loved cutting taxes and telling people they cut taxes, but they were totally unwilling to cut spending.

And that trend continues.

Howard Schultz is not the right candidate to be President.  But I’m glad he is at least thinking about running and I hope he does. I hope he continues to put the spotlight on the national debt.

The debt is out of control and America needs to do something about the debt, assuming it is not already too late.

Roger Stone and the jack booted thugs

On January 25, 2019, the FBI assembled a task force, complete with twenty some odd agents, armed with automatic weapons and body armor to go after a dangerous fugitive.  The went to the man’s house and knocked on his door.

They came face to face with an unarmed 66 year old man, in pajamas wearing glasses.

It was political operative Roger Stone.

And while the FBI arrested Stone on a sealed indictment, a CNN camera crew just happened to be nearby to record the whole thing.

Why did Roger Stone rate the kind of force usually reserved for drug kingpins and terror suspects?

When the grand jury indicted Roger Stone, the Special Prosecutor’s office filed a motion to have the indictment sealed until it could be served on Stone (I.E. he was arrested). The motion stated:

Law enforcement believes that publicity resulting from disclosure of the Indictment and related materials on the public record prior to arrest will increase the risk of the defendant fleeing and destroying (or tampering with) evidence. It is therefore essential that any information concerning the pending indictment in this district be kept sealed prior to the defendant’s arrest.

Roger Stone has a seven-count indictment.  They are obstructing a government proceeding, five counts of making false statements to the House Intelligence Committee and a final count of witness tampering.

Let’s stop and think about the rationale the Mueller team of Democrat Prosecutors used. The indictment had to remain secret because Stone might flee, or Stone might destroy evidence.

Stone has been egging Mueller on for well over a year.  He has repeatedly said he expected to be indicted.  He had plenty of time to flee if that was his plan.

Crimes are by definition something that occurred before the indictment.  But how would Stone tamper with the crimes he is accused of?

Unless Stone has a time machine, he cannot go back and erase the allegedly false statements he made. He cannot go back and prevent the statements that allegedly constitute witness tampering.

Stone was taken into custody, appeared before a federal magistrate and released on a signature bond. In other words, he was such a threat that the government did not try to hold him in jail until his trial.

In most white collar cases, the defendant’s attorney is called up, given a time to bring the client in for surrender and do the perp walk.

Why not here?

The answer is simple. Mueller and his team of Democrat Prosecutors are using storm trooper tactics against anyone who stands up to them.  After cooperating with the Democrat Prosecutors for months, Paul Manafort had his home raided early one morning on what is known as a “no-knock” warrant.  He and his wife were confronted, while still in bed, by federal agents with guns drawn.

The common factor here is both men would not turn on President Trump.  So the Democrat Prosecutors decided to use tactics worthy of their heroes, the KGB.

Robert Mueller was originally given the Special Prosecutor job because Jeff Sessions, the Attorney General, recused himself. Sessions is gone. There is no reason why the Special Prosecutor needs to exist. With no conflict in the Justice Department, this “investigation” can and should be handled by prosecutors in that department.

It is long past time to end the Mueller charade and put his team of Democrat Prosecutors back into the unemployment line.

First they came for our social media.

Lidblog has an interesting piece on ten conservative twitter users that were banned for no apparent reason, other than being conservative.

Gab is now crowdsourcing fundraising. Right wing watch, the George Soros funded attack machine, gleefully reports that payment processors (the intermediaries who allow credit card payments) are threatening to cut off services to Gab.  If Gab cannot receive payments, the twitter alternative will probably die.

Across the social media sphere, the same is happening. Conservatives are reporting their sites are being blocked, removed, demonetized or otherwise eliminated.  John Hawkins founded  His site was doing well, until Facebook changed their algorithms and suddenly his site and a lot of other conservative sites suddenly were not getting traffic.  Alex Jones, who is a little or perhaps a lot crazy, saw Paypal cut off his payment system for Infowars and now he is suing.

The left calls this, “deplatforming.”  Documents released from dissidents in Google, for example, show leftists in that organization fully supporting the idea of removing conservatives from the Internet. The would love to see the web, “Konservativ frei.”

The left wants to see the Internet do nothing but praise the far left radicals of the Democrat Party and its related organs, while slandering or simply “disappearing” any reference to conservatives, Republicans or what a lot of us call, “real Americans.”

Sure, the left hate machine went after Alex Jones first. They’ve mostly deplatformed him.   That is not where they are stopping. They target Breitbart and other conservative news outlets as well.  At least one of Google’s senior search engineers wants to censor Tennessee Congressman and Gubanatorial candidate Marsha Blackburn.

Where does it all go from here?

The left is not going to wake up tomorrow and say, “We’ve gotten rid of Alex Jones. We’re happy now.”

No, they will not stop. When the left has an idea that works, they keep pushing it. What will be next? Will the credit card companies start denying cards to real Americans just because they are conservative? What other services will these companies start deciding who gets, based no their political beliefs?

Let’s face it. Alex Jones is a schmuck.  Who listens to infowars? I don’t.  But that isn’t the point. The point is, he was the test case. The left is moving in a coordinated action to deplatform all conservatives. They will never be happy until the United States is a single party, socialist dictatorship.

They are coming for our social media first.

It won’t end there.

The storm clouds on the horizon.

Recently, the Bureau of Labor announced something that had never happened before in America. At least, not in the time we have been keeping statistics, anyway.

In America, there were now more job openings than job seekers.

On the surface, that sounds great. In fact, at one level, it is very good news.  The Trump recovery is underway, after eight years of the Great Obama Depression.  After eight years of what was at best mismanagement and at worst, an absolute attempt to tank the American economy, this nation is roaring back.  Tax cuts, which have not really kicked in yet, help.  Even bigger for America are the cuts the Administration has made to the regulatory state.

Unfortunately, there is danger ahead.

In economic terms, right now there are too many jobs chasing too few workers. When that happens, there is competition for workers and wages go up.

Higher wages are a good thing, right?

Not necessarily.

This nation and its economists, have lived in fear of inflation since the dark days of the Carter administration.  During the Carter years, inflation rose as high as 13%.  The Federal Reserve stepped in and raised interest rates.  The high interest rates killed inflation but also killed economic growth as well.  Eventually, the Reagan tax cuts helped the economy recover.

Now, fast forward to today.

One of the earliest indicators of inflation is wage inflation. We have not seen much of that yet, but it is coming. And what does the Federal Reserve do when inflation rears its head?   They raise interest rates.

For the last decade, this nation has enjoyed abnormally low interest rates.  And the nation when on a borrowing rampage. The government borrowed money. Businesses borrowed money. People borrowed money.

In 2017, interest rates rose to their highest levels since 2009.

And there is the danger.

One of the issues that led to the launch of the Tea Party movement in 2009, was the unrestrained spending and borrowing by the Federal Government.  Borrowing has a cost and that is in the form of interest that is paid.

The government shows no sign that it is slowing down its spending habits, even as record tax revenues are coming in to the Treasury.

What happens when interest rates rise?

Here are a couple of dirty secrets. First, the government only pays the interest on the national debt. The actual debt itself is recycled by the issuance of new debt paper (treasury bills).  Second, most of those bills are short term bills.  In other words, money the government borrows today, it must borrow again, usually in ninety days.

What happens when the interest rates rise, dramatically?  What happens when we have a repeat of the Carter years and end up with a prime rate of 20.50 percent?

The answer is the government will have to spend a lot more money just to borrow money to remain solvent. Where will that money come from? Some of it will be borrowed. Some of it will have to come from either new taxes, which will strangle the economy. Or, it will have to come from reductions in other government programs.

Anyone remember Greece? They had the same problem.  They could not pay back their debt, could not raise taxes and various powerful constituent groups made it impossible to cut spending.

This kind of financial disaster is coming to America.

The first rain drops are falling.

The storm is coming.

The Virginia Revolution

In 2014, something amazing happened.

House Majority Leader and Virginia Congressman Eric Cantor was speeding along to what everyone thought would be an easy reelection.   His opponent was a little known college professor named Dave Brat.

Brat was outspent, over $1000 to $1.

I was on the ground in Virginia in 2014 and I knew something the experts did not know. They were all wrong and Dave Brat was going to beat Eric Cantor.

Cantor was the heir apparent to be the next Speaker of the House.  He was also a target of conservatives, who were tired of the establishment selling them out.  Brat beat Cantor and the rest is history.

2018 may be another Virginia revolution against the establishment.  Two of the worst Republican may be replaced by conservatives who support the President.

In Virginia’s 10thDistrict, Barbara Comstock is running scared. Her record is a disaster, as she supports Democrats more than she supports a Republican President. Shak Hill is a decorated Air Force veteran, who supports the President.

In Virginia’s 2ndCongressional District, the incumbent is Scott Taylor. Taylor is a globalist, anti-Trumper.  He is opposed by Mary Jones, who supports the President.

Both Comstock and Taylor are proof that just because someone has an “R” behind their name, doesn’t make them a good congressman.  One of the reasons the conservative agenda has been stalled in Congress is because of squishy congressmen.

The weak and wobbly anti-Trump congressmen need to be replaced by real conservatives.

In 2014, Virginia shocked the world when it said no to the establishment’s heir apparent.  In 2018, Virginia is posed to do this again, by elected Shak Hill and Mary Jones.

Virginia needs to send two conservatives into Congress to replace the two congressmen who are more inclined to support Nancy Pelosi than Donald Trump.

Virginia did it in 2014. Tell your friends in Virginia, we need to do it again in 2018.

The biggest liars.

Liberalism is all about identity politics and being some kind of victim.  It does not matter what outrageous thing a liberal does, when it blows back on them, they are always the victim.

Google, the official search engine of the Democrat Party has been slammed over the last few weeks with the James Damore lawsuit.  Damore was a Google engineer who was fired for pointing out that Google went overboard in its political correctness and its obsession that women be hired into tech, even though a lot of women choose careers other than tech. Damore argued that men and women are different and fewer women were interested in tech careers.

At far-left wing Google, that is heresy.

Damore would not back down. According to ARS Technica, he pressed his point of view and the fascists at Google pushed back:

The result was an intense backlash. “You’re a misogynist and a terrible person,” one Googler reportedly wrote to Damore in an email. “I will keep hounding you until one of us is fired. Fuck you.”

“If Google management cares enough about diversity and inclusion, they should, and I urge them to, send a clear message by not only terminating Mr. Damore, but also severely disciplining or terminating those who have expressed support” for his memo, another Googler wrote in an internal discussion forum.

In any sane company, the authors of those emails would have been disciplined.  Instead, Damore was fired.

Damore filed suit against Google and the PR nightmare for Google began. Damore’s suit against Google is not the only one.  Talk show host Dennis Prager has filed a law suit against Google/YouTube for censoring his videos.

So, what does a liberal group do when it is hit hard? It comes out crying, claiming it is the victim.  And it recruits the official media arm of the Democrat Party, Gannett and USA Today to publish their claims.

The firing of Google engineer James Damore for suggesting men are more suited to technical roles than women has triggered a culture war inside the Internet giant, with some Google employees saying the company is not doing enough to protect them from a harassment campaign that has subjected them to hateful comments and violent threats.

These employees, many of whom volunteer as diversity advocates, say they’ve been targeted by some of their own coworkers for fighting to bring greater diversity to Google’s 78,000-plus staff of mostly white and Asian men.

Their personal information and comments expressed in internal company forums have been leaked to the public and published on far-right websites, leading to mistreatment by online vigilantes. What’s more, they say they’ve been subjected to doxing on 4Chan and Kiwi Farms after screenshots were included in the 161-page lawsuit Damore filed in January alleging Google discriminates against whites, conservatives and men.

As Google employees cry, and the slavish left wing media prints their story without question, they don’t want to mention how these people harassed Damore.  According to PJ Media:

The lawsuit also alleges that Google employees were awarded bonuses for arguing against Damore’s views. In one example of this, a female employee was awarded a bonus for speaking out against the “wretched hive of scum and villainy” allegedly represented by Damore’s memo.

Email excerpts sent among Google employees after Damore’s memo went public also illustrated pervasive hostility towards conservatives.

“I intend to silence these views; they are violently offensive,” wrote senior engineer Colm Buckley in a message to his coworkers. He also wrote to coworkers that there are certain political views “which I do not want people to feel safe to share.”

In plain English, the left feels it is perfectly acceptable to silence views they disagree with. The left feels it is perfectly acceptable to discriminate against groups they do not like, such as whites, men and conservatives.

For real Americans, the Google lawsuit should be a wake call. This is what the left does when it controls a major corporation.

What do you think they will do the next time they fully control the American government?
